This adventure combines mountains, culture, cinematic landscapes, and desert magic into one of Morocco's most iconic travel experiences — departing and returning to Marrakech.
8:00 AM pickup from your Marrakech hotel. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the breathtaking Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m) with a photo stop and panoramic views of winding mountain roads and Berber villages. Visit UNESCO Aït Benhaddou — walk the ancient ksar, cross to the hilltop viewpoint, and enjoy free time for photos. Lunch at a local restaurant with mountain views. Continue to Ouarzazate to visit the historic Kasbah Taourirt. Drive through the spectacular Dadès Valley to your overnight kasbah. Driving: 6–7 hours.
After breakfast, enjoy morning views of the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations and Dadès Canyon. Head to Todra Gorge — walk between the 300-metre canyon walls beside a crystal-clear river. Continue through Tinghir's lush palm grove oasis and Erfoud's fossil-studded desert landscape. Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Swap your vehicle for a camel caravan and trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes as the sun sets. Arrive at your luxury desert camp for welcome mint tea, a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, live Berber music around the campfire, and an unforgettable night in the Sahara. Driving: 5–6 hours.
Rise early for one of Morocco's most magical moments — a Sahara sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast at camp, begin the scenic return journey. Stop in Ouarzazate to visit the world-famous Atlas Film Studios, home to iconic sets from Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones.
